E.S.S.—It’s what I do!
Having been in this business for the last eight
years (by the way, ALG Studio celebrates it’s
5 year mark in 2003), I understand what my
clients want, and it’s broken down into three
components: enthusiasm, solutions and
service.
Enthusiasm
Clients want to feel good about their
projects. They want to know the perceived
impossible can be done. As a designer, I
know that absolutely anything can be done
and bring to the table the ideas to make it
happen.
Solutions
Dull is devastating to an interior designer.
People don’t pay me good, hard earned
money to deliver something they could have
thought up on their own. It’s my job to
solve design problems, and share information
to provide solutions for clients through my
expertise. It’s my job to squeeze out every
ounce of creativity I can find between my
ears to provide clients with a powerful
design, representative of who they are,
within the context and budget they
allow.
Service
Service to me means leading the project and
being a knowledgeable, trusted consultant
indispensable to my clients. It is simply music
to my ears when a client tells me, “this is just
what we wanted, only we didn’t know it
could be this wonderful!.” I try to create a
comfortable relationship with each and
every client; I want my clients to know they
can call me anytime with design issues and
feel they are getting a knowledgeable and
straightforward answer to their design issues.
I recently had one client tell me, “people just
don’t know what you do,” and this put me to
thinking for a way to explain that.
What I do is project management. I am not
a contractor; I design spaces and I make them
happen. I team with people that have proven
to me that they can envision what I’m doing,
and can plug in their talents to make this
piece, or that piece, HAPPEN. Piece by piece,
we create a client’s dream, and that’s the
simplest way I know how to explain what I
do…
